This Privacy Policy describes how TJ's Heating, Cooling & Air Purification ("TJ's," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, discloses, and protects personal information when you visit www.tjshvacr.com (and related pages such as tjshvac.grok.me), contact us, request a quote, book service, leave a review, or otherwise interact with our business.

Customer and commercial information. Service address; property type; equipment make, model, and serial number; job history; invoices; estimates; payment status; warranty information; permit and HERS details; and communications about your job.

Internet and technical information. Browser type, device type, pages viewed, referring URL, approximate location derived from IP address, and cookies or similar technologies if they are enabled.

Professional or employment information (limited). If you apply for work or are a vendor, information you provide for that purpose.

Inferences. Limited service or marketing preferences drawn from your requests (for example, that you asked about a repair rather than a replacement).

Sensitive personal information. We collect sensitive personal information only if it is needed for requested services. We do not store full payment-card numbers on this website.

We do not intentionally collect personal information from children under 16.

2. How we collect personal information

We collect personal information:

  • Directly from you, including by phone, email, text, website forms, Calendly booking, on-site visits, reviews, and social media.
  • Automatically, through server logs and analytics if those tools are enabled.
  • From partners who help us complete a job, such as manufacturers, permit offices, utilities, financing companies, CRM tools, and payment processors, as needed for that job.
  • From public sources, such as the Contractors State License Board and public listings, when relevant to the work.

3. How we use personal information

We use personal information to:

  • Prepare estimates, schedule work, and perform heating, cooling, and air-purification services.
  • Process payments, invoices, and warranties.
  • Handle permits, HERS, Title 24, and other legal compliance.
  • Keep ordinary business records.
  • Operate and improve this website.
  • Send service-related messages about a request you made.
  • Send marketing where allowed. You may opt out at any time.
  • Protect the security of our people, customers, and systems.
  • Comply with law, licensing, insurance, and tax rules.

4. Sale, sharing, and disclosure

We do not sell personal information for money. We do not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising as those terms are used under the CPRA.

We disclose personal information to service providers who help us run the business (for example calendar, email, phone, text, payment, CRM, permit, manufacturer, and hosting providers). We may also disclose personal information when required by law, to protect safety, or in connection with a business transfer such as a sale or merger of the company.

5. Your California privacy rights (CCPA/CPRA)

If you are a California resident, you have the right to:

  • Know and access the personal information we have collected about you.
  • Delete personal information, subject to legal exceptions.
  • Correct inaccurate personal information.
  • Opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information. We do not sell personal information for money and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
  • Limit the use and disclosure of sensitive personal information.
  • Not be discriminated against for exercising these rights.

You may use an authorized agent. We may require proof of authorization and identity.

6. Retention

We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes above and as required by law. Typical periods:

  • Service, invoice, and tax records: about 7 years.
  • Warranty records: the warranty life plus a reasonable period.
  • Marketing contacts: until you unsubscribe or we no longer use the list.
  • Website logs: about 13 months.

We then delete, de-identify, or archive the information in the ordinary course of business.

7. Cookies and analytics

This site is built to stay small. We may use strictly necessary cookies or logs to deliver the page, and analytics if enabled to understand traffic. We do not run advertising pixels on this site. Third-party pages you open (including Calendly and Google reviews) set their own cookies under their own policies.

8. Calls, texts, and email (TCPA)

By submitting a service-call form, booking a time, or giving us your number, you consent to be contacted by phone, email, or text about your request. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out of marketing texts. Service messages about a job you asked us to do may continue until that work is closed.

9. Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards appropriate to a small contractor business. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure.

10. Third-party links and services

This site may link to Calendly, Google, the Contractors State License Board, and other sites. Those services have their own privacy policies. We are not responsible for their practices.

Online calendar bookings use Calendly. Their terms and privacy policy apply to that booking flow in addition to this policy.

11. Changes and contact

We may update this Privacy Policy. The "Last updated" date at the top is the current version. Continued use of the site after a change means you accept the update.
